Sison L.

Linnaeus, Sp. Pl. 252 (1753).
Taxonomy. S. segetum has been placed in Petroselinum by several recent authors (e.g. Tutin 1968, Stace 1991), but is here transferred to Sison based on, e.g., molecular data (cf. Reduron 2008).

Sison segetum L. 1753 (Petroselinum segetum (L.) W.D.J. Koch 1824). S höstpersilja. – Lit.: Reduron (2008; also ill.). – 40–60 cm tall annual with slender tap­root. Stem slender, green, terete to angular. Leaves with a very narrow, membrane-bordered sheath; blade narrowly triangular to lanceolate, 1-pinnate, with 5–8 pairs of leaflets. Leaflets 7.5–11 × 5–8 mm, serrate to doubly serrate. Umbels with 3–4 rays of unequal length; bracts and bractlets 3–4. Flowers with white to slightly purplish petals; filaments 0.6 mm; anthers purplish. Fruit ovate in outline, with minute styles.
As a weed among Petroselinum crispum in S Hl Vinberg 1987 and Hls Bjuråker 1994. – W Europe. – Map (not in the book).
