Stem conspicuously green, slightly glaucous.
Leaves 2–3-pinnatifid, with linear lobes.
Bracts and bractlets present (bracts sometimes lobed).
Petals white, with pointed papillae on back; anthers red, 0.3–0.4 mm.
Fruit ovate in outline, with blunt papillae except on the narrowed beak.
D Sjæ København 5 localities 1961– 91 (mainly at sewage-treatment plants, presumably from bird-seed).
S BhG Göteborg 1913, 1926, 1930, Strömstad 1955 (weed in nursery). – Cultivated as a spice and medicinal plant in S Asia and E Africa and escaped; native occurrence uncertain (Townsend 1989). –
